  3. By the comments here not too many people have much sympathy for the Afghans. It's a complicated subject with a lot of pieces but I'd have to agree. Between the corrupt Afghanistan government & the apathy demonstrated by the Afgan people to defend their country & rights I'd say they (sadly) got what they deserved: the Taliban. No one will come to their rescue now, they're screwed.

  7.  @juch3  I suppose you're right. The victims & their families don't deserve any sympathy. Their lives don't really matter nor the horrible way in which they were murdered. The cold blooded murderer deserves compassion & the victims, hey, who cares, right? They didn't deserve to live a full life (like you or I) did they?

  8. The US government sends billions in aid to other nations but never has money to help needy Americans. "Always money for a war, never money to help the poor". It really is embarrassing to call myself an American at times. This is one of them.

  9.  @juch3  I replied to your post & in particular when you wrote there was no need for sympathy manipulation (for the victims) since this video is about capital punishment in the US. To me that came across as rather cold blooded with little regard for the victims & familes & I would argue that this video was, in its own way a form of manipulation.

  10.  @mceltix2009  As someone who has been a victim of violent crime & having a family member murdered I feel qualified. The hardest phone call of my life was calling a father to tell him his son was murdered & being responsible for the planning of the victims funeral was equally difficult. I realize capital punishment is a tough subject, is it 'right' to execute a person? Or is it better to let this person languish in prison? There are no moral absolutes in a complex world. ✌

  16. I scrolled through the comments (until I got tired of scrolling) & yet I didn't see any comments on Roswell or Area 51. I'm somewhat surprised. I thought for sure someone would say something about either. Anyhoo, count me in as one who believes there is intelligent life forms out there. The James Webb Telescope is just beginning to show us how vast the universe is. It's so large our tiny brains cannot comprehend it. With its vast size the universe most certainly has some life forms other then single cell critters. It's too large not to. Throw in all the UFO reports from all over the world & I'd say the odds are pretty good. Heck, our best scientists are overwhelmed & in awe & many theorizing life on distant planets as a definite possibility. On a separate note I'm disappointed with Vice wasting time & bandwidth with these people. There are many highly intelligent & credible people Vice could've taken the time to discuss this subject. I suppose the fringe element gets more views & clicks though & Vice succumbed to that, rather then a serious report on a important subject. Vices version of tabloid journalism.

  20. I hope the media stays up on this rather then move on to the next crisis elsewhere. This could very well be a major turning point in Iranian history. A regime change more Western friendly (& Israel) would be a game changer for the entire world. Iran & it's people are both remarkable and would be a great asset to us all.

  29. There will always be MAGA supporters but there numbers are fading away. Trump could get the GOP nomination provided there are many GOP candidates running in 2024. But Trump will lose the Presidential election as he doesn't have the numbers he used to have especially with Independents. America for the most part has had enough of him. Time for the GOP to move on. America should consider themselves lucky Trump lost in 2020 thanks to the Corona virus. If it wasn't for the virus he'd be President still. Trump got beat but something he couldn't see & didn't have the expertise to handle correctly. His own arrogance & stupidity cost him the campaign.

  32. Oh boy, this guy is the ultimate dreamer. Realistically mankind is a greedy selfish lot that prioritizes short term profits over long term ideals. We are all guilty of that. As individuals we can do small things to make the world & its future better, but just try getting the large corporations that pollute the planet on board with that type of thinking. Good luck.
