I hope they succeed but I'm skeptical on the battery leasing & the initial vehicle cost. To an unknown & unproven brand it's going to be an uphill battle for many years for Vinfast. They are in for a real slog.

@quangvinhle1361 I'm another American rooting for Vinfast although I'm not quite sold on leasing the batteries.

Yeah, but then you're stuck with a Chevy or a Ford.

Lucid: only producing 12,000 to 14,000 vehicles for 2022. A wait list of two years & a starting price of $77,400. Rivian: price starts at $68,575 & has only produced less then 7,000 vehicles in 2022. Rivian has a target of 25,000 units for 2022. Yeah, sure. My money is on Vinfast to outlast these two. I'm skeptical of the battery leasing but my gut tells me that this company means business (pun intended).

Please don't mention Apple building cars. I can only imagine in horror at Apple's Walled Garden for vehicles! Apple only tires, Apple only windshield washer fluid etc. Probably a subscription service for the AC & heater too.

No car manufacturer has cranked up EV production yet. Many designs are still in the works. It won't take much to topple Tesla once things are ramped up. With all the QC issues at Tesla a better EV vehicle by Toyota or VW will eat Teslas lunch. By that time maybe Tesla will finally build their cyber truck. Maybe...

@thev5140 You just described cars made by Tesla. 😂

I disagree. The first one to build a better mouse trap then Musk will eat his lunch. Making a better car then a Tesla is a pretty low bar.

Then wait for Toyota, Honda or Mazda to make the car for you. Be patient & bide your time as EV technology is still in it's infancy.

It's Ramon noodle man or wack job Musk, pick your poison.
