Marder so the US doesn't have to keep sending billions to a country most people in the US couldn't point out on a map

@mikees9959 again it still doesn't nullify any of the points made. The US government should put the US people first. The Canadian government should put Canadian people first. Somalia's government should put Somalians first. Not rocket science

@EliteBadFrog I could care less for a country that wouldn't even bat an eye for us if we needed help. I'm sorry if that is too complex for you to understand, but the US government needs to focus on the people of the US first. We don't need another country to donate billions to every year while we suffer

@mikees9959 yes billions is cheap. Thats why other countries wont match it right? They're too rich

@mikees9959 and thats why we have to do everything? Theres a lot of stuff that European countries can have that the US can't because we're doing all the work for defense. Healthcare, affordable education, public transit, other social programs that Europeans bash us for not having is impossible because if we spent the money on those and not on defense, Europeans would cry

@EliteBadFrog theres a lot of reasons that there hasn't been any fighting on US soil, not just because big ol Britain or someone would help. China wouldn't attack because we owe them so much and that would cripple their economy for example. Now you talk about how much we spent on the military budget and in X war. Yeah thats the issue. That needs to be lowered and go to the people it belongs to. Not sure why you're arguing that. As for influence, we were doing just fine for over 100 years without meddling in other countries wars and everyone knew we weren't to be taken lightly. The British grabbed us in WWI because they knew we would be a major help. Germany knew not to mess with us but had to because Japan did. Its not like we weren't already influential by just existing. We're in the top 5 highest population and land mass countries. We scared the Soviets by landing on the moon and no other country has put anyone else on but us. To be ignorant and say we need to expand our influence with military is such an idiotic thing to say. Japan is big in the tech industry. Their military is defense only but millions of people rely on them and their technology. There are other ways to have influence besides military. Other point is a lot of people are losing faith in the government. How can you say we need to help everyone else when less than 40% of the population say our government is doing a really good job? And this doesn't include everyone in the survey. YouTube removed dislikes after seeing how bad any white house video got ratioed with dislikes. You can't be influential or have a proper running country where the people don't have faith in the government. At that point it might as well become a dictatorship. I don't understand how or why its controversial to say these things. Youd put yourself and family first before helping your neighbors right? If your house burned down are you going to give half your savings to the neighbor who is in the hospital? Screw your family for sleeping out in the cold your neighbor needs it more. Who thinks like that? I get wanting to help people but we need to fix our own issues before we can help others

@Metalhead_69 so sell them to get something rather than donate. I mean you can literally by a m113 right now as a civilian and the government would make money on top of it
1
@mikees9959 and the US has 10 million people crossing the border as refugees too. Thats a big issue people are upset about too. That doesn't nullify any other point mentioned
1
@mikees9959 then you clearly don't understand the issue no matter how many times its said to you. The people don't want to keep suffering. We don't want our taxes being used for people other than us until we're all in a good position. The housing market is awful, student loans and education costs are ridiculously high, prices for basic needs are going up, but go ahead and keep taxing us and throw the most mundane excuse of why we should help. Why not just ask Jeff bezos to donate a third of his income? Why should the father of 3 living paycheck to paycheck pay when Jeff could do it all and then some

@mikees9959 yes and I hope this war causes more people to notice how badly the US government is failing its people right now. Thats the least it can do
