I think you're making it seem darker than it really is. I live in the midwest and theres corn and soy fields everywhere. Yes we produce enough food for everyone and then some but we dont always feed everyone. We have cows, pigs, sheep, horses, chickens, and other animals that also eat these foods. 31 million cows and each one eats about 50-100 pounds of food a day. That doesn't just come from thin air. And in return of feeding these animals, we get food, leather, transportation, wool and other resources. And what about putting ethanol in gas to reduce emissions? That comes from corn too.
So while you're thinking companies just want people to starve, the real reason its not cost effective is because we don't only grow food for humans to eat. We use the food we grow for making more food and other usable resources

We get 2 years of lockdowns, ruined businesses, toilet paper shortages, social interaction decline among students from online classes, civil division, lower critical thinking, "trust the science, no disagreeing", government coverup, censorship, unnecessary deaths, wide spread panic, etc.
A lot happens

@jdirksen what does your body use the resources for exactly? Hint, they mentioned it in the video.
It takes energy and resources to make cells yes? Takes enery and resources to make the alerts and signals from cells yes? If said person's immune system is using a lot of energy and resources, where does it all get used up at?
Your idea is backwards. If you're using resources a lot, you must be trying to do something. The fact that your body recognized an infection and responded means it's doing its job. The reaction is to do as the video says. Release signals, alert immune system, create new cells, and other activities like cough or fever. All take resources to use. So again if you're saying a poor immune system is using more resources, where are they going?
If for whatever reason you don't have an immune system, you shouldn't feel as sick because all your cells would be doing is freaking out. No fever, no new immune cell creation, no anything. Do you see how this is a debated topic?

@jdirksen your immune system is a lot more harmful to you than most other pathogens. Coughs, fevers, runny nose, inflammation, pressure build up in the sinuses, weakness, loss of appetite, etc are almost always caused by your own immune system. The common cold for example isn't going to cause you to get a runny nose. Thats your body trying to flush it out to reduce the spread. When I had pneumonia a few years ago, I honestly couldn't eat anything no matter how hard I tried. I had a few bites and that was it. It wasn't the things in my lungs causing it, it was my immune system doing it.
A lot of damaging infections are pretty specific at what they attack like HIV attacking the white blood cells or malaria attacking the liver. Your immune system can easily destroy everything and anything in its path as many of this channel's videos have mentioned before. It will attack indiscriminately.
Now if you never get a fever or cough for a cold, there could be a few reasons. 1. Your immune system doesn't recognize it very well and struggles to handle it. 2. The infection is mild/not a lot of stuff got in and you dont need do so much damage. 3. You already got infected with this strain before so your memory cells help faster. 4. Your naturally more immune to this disease compared to someone else. I feel like your idea of efficiency falls more into idea 3, but we don't know which case it is every single time.
Some diseases lay dormant for years and if your immune system finds them and you get "sick", I feel like that is a sign of a strong immune system. Its supposed to be active and look for anything that could harm you non stop so the fact you got a fever from finding a dormant virus shows its actively looking for things.
Efficiency and strength have some in common but I feel like being able to recognize the infection faster and handle it is a bit better than just being efficient because the faster you can stop it, the less likely it can mutate. And its also a pretty clear sign you are sick and you know not to spread it to others
