  180. This video is implying that everyone will work together and have the same knowledge as each other when in reality if society collapsed, only a handful of the survivers would be of any use. Technology has been integrated so deeply in society today that you can look up anything online. You don't need to rely on your parents teaching you some stuff as you can look it up. The level of knowledge will decrease throughout generations and increase the need for technology. Its like building a building: the more advanced you get the taller the building can be. But say the foundation cracks and the building collapses, its going to cause more damage than a smaller one. Now look at people's skills. While sure a lot lf farmers could survive, they won't know everything about every crop. A farmer from the Midwest might know a lot about growing corn and soy but know nothing about rice. Meanwhile the Chinese farmer is the opposite. So not only will the amount of food be lower but the choices would be too. And if the Midwestern farmer wants to grow rice, how will they communicate to the Chinese farmer? Phone services and online chat rooms could be down and you couldn't do it. Realistically speaking, even if 99% of the world was gone and we had the same ratio of people knowing different skills (farmer, banker, teacher, etc) they wouldn't all be shared equally across the planet. There are a lot more computer engineers in silicon valley than Wyoming as an example so some areas will be better off than others. Thats why only a small amount of the survivers will actually survive long enough to create civilization again. All the skilless people will be casted out

  292.  @clayel1  so much of this comment is wrong... Scientists are supposed to challenge the current ideas. Thats how science works. Its not "trust the science, dont say anything against it" no thats the complete opposite of what should be done. Second oh no its not just celebrities getting called out its literally anyone online eho said it. You hear more about celebrities because they're more well known than the guy with 3 Twitter followers. Third there's a large difference between news saying "thats not what happened" vs not saying anything at all. News stations should be reporting the actual news, not their own opinions on what they think. If they had no evidence to disagree with what people say, dont comment on it. Did we have proof it came from a lab in 2019? No. But did we have proof it came from somewhere else? Also no. All we had was a speculation crom where it came from. With that, we can't say whos idea is right or wrong. The only thing that's correct is the part about how debatable it still is. But a debate has more than 1 side. If someone says it came from outer space by aliens, as laughable as it might be, they still have a right to say that and shouldn't be fired from their job or labeled awful things for everyone to see. But unfortunately thats exactly what happened. And thats the biggest issue. Should we fire everyone who ever said it was a natural occurrence and censor anything they say? They were just going with what they thought with as much evidence as someone saying it was from a lab so why was one idea ridiculed but not the other? Doesn't seem debatable to me but if somehow the bill that the US is trying to pass to be open about the incident passes, we will see what evidence we actually had

  401.  @jdirksen  your immune system is a lot more harmful to you than most other pathogens. Coughs, fevers, runny nose, inflammation, pressure build up in the sinuses, weakness, loss of appetite, etc are almost always caused by your own immune system. The common cold for example isn't going to cause you to get a runny nose. Thats your body trying to flush it out to reduce the spread. When I had pneumonia a few years ago, I honestly couldn't eat anything no matter how hard I tried. I had a few bites and that was it. It wasn't the things in my lungs causing it, it was my immune system doing it. A lot of damaging infections are pretty specific at what they attack like HIV attacking the white blood cells or malaria attacking the liver. Your immune system can easily destroy everything and anything in its path as many of this channel's videos have mentioned before. It will attack indiscriminately. Now if you never get a fever or cough for a cold, there could be a few reasons. 1. Your immune system doesn't recognize it very well and struggles to handle it. 2. The infection is mild/not a lot of stuff got in and you dont need do so much damage. 3. You already got infected with this strain before so your memory cells help faster. 4. Your naturally more immune to this disease compared to someone else. I feel like your idea of efficiency falls more into idea 3, but we don't know which case it is every single time. Some diseases lay dormant for years and if your immune system finds them and you get "sick", I feel like that is a sign of a strong immune system. Its supposed to be active and look for anything that could harm you non stop so the fact you got a fever from finding a dormant virus shows its actively looking for things. Efficiency and strength have some in common but I feel like being able to recognize the infection faster and handle it is a bit better than just being efficient because the faster you can stop it, the less likely it can mutate. And its also a pretty clear sign you are sick and you know not to spread it to others

  519.  @EliteBadFrog  theres a lot of reasons that there hasn't been any fighting on US soil, not just because big ol Britain or someone would help. China wouldn't attack because we owe them so much and that would cripple their economy for example. Now you talk about how much we spent on the military budget and in X war. Yeah thats the issue. That needs to be lowered and go to the people it belongs to. Not sure why you're arguing that. As for influence, we were doing just fine for over 100 years without meddling in other countries wars and everyone knew we weren't to be taken lightly. The British grabbed us in WWI because they knew we would be a major help. Germany knew not to mess with us but had to because Japan did. Its not like we weren't already influential by just existing. We're in the top 5 highest population and land mass countries. We scared the Soviets by landing on the moon and no other country has put anyone else on but us. To be ignorant and say we need to expand our influence with military is such an idiotic thing to say. Japan is big in the tech industry. Their military is defense only but millions of people rely on them and their technology. There are other ways to have influence besides military. Other point is a lot of people are losing faith in the government. How can you say we need to help everyone else when less than 40% of the population say our government is doing a really good job? And this doesn't include everyone in the survey. YouTube removed dislikes after seeing how bad any white house video got ratioed with dislikes. You can't be influential or have a proper running country where the people don't have faith in the government. At that point it might as well become a dictatorship. I don't understand how or why its controversial to say these things. Youd put yourself and family first before helping your neighbors right? If your house burned down are you going to give half your savings to the neighbor who is in the hospital? Screw your family for sleeping out in the cold your neighbor needs it more. Who thinks like that? I get wanting to help people but we need to fix our own issues before we can help others
