And overestimated itself.

@vonduus LOL. Thanks I needed a laugh. Nothing you wrote is accurate.

The liberal pluralistic government and culture of Germany today would argue otherwise and say the title is clickbait.
21
@battlepassgaming Except that is wrong. Stalin did not think the Germans would invade. The Soviets had invaded Poland in 1920, including Stalin personally was in charge but failed. It was purely a land grab to secure Winter access to the Baltic, just like the war with Finland was.
20
@fosterfuchs Also wrong. The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact was very different than the Munich Agreement. It was a literal secret "pact of thieves". Stalin might have assumed he would have to go to war with Germany at some point, but he did not think it would be in 1941. Stalin was warned by the British, his own intelligence staff, and even German defectors on the eve of the invasion. But he did not listen to it because it didn't fit the way he wanted things to play out. Being a sociopathic dictator has its down sides.

That was a slip in the writing. She should have mentioned the T-34-85 in the background was a much improved version with better ergonomics in the upgunned 3 man turret.
14
The justification for the war was that Iraq had active CBN programs and production and that Saddam was a threat the region and US directly or supply them to terrorists. This was patently false.
13
Carlin was a cynical comedian not a historian or political scientist.

@edwinhidalgo1242 Read the rest of this thread. He was most definitely a monster.

Suddenly contemporarily relevant.

@vcjuul9190 Aren't you just the cutest little apologist...
6
@vcjuul9190 Your ignorance is kinda painful to watch yeah.
6
@depredador93 Ruzziaboo... That is false for another thing. Poland was apportioned that part because the point of the Munich Agreement was to return regions with ethnic majorities to which ever states they "belonged" to. Poland wasn't even a signator. Also all of central Europe was in chaos in this period, with pretty much everyone at war with everyone else.
6
@thestanleys3657 Blah blah blah, there was no mandate to replace Saddam/Bathisht party in Iraq. Which is why it couldn't/didn't happen. Because there were smarter people in the US Admin who knew that what happened in '03 would have happened if they had.
6
The Japanese developed the shallow running torpedoes because they needed it to attack Pearl Harbor. Taranto was an example of a harbor attack, but not at all the inspiration for it. Britain ended its naval alliance with Japan because it was part of the Tripartite Pact with Germany and Italy, not from pressure from the US. Also because of the atrocities Japan was committing in China. This is a good one, but hardly the first video on the reasons why Japan attacked at Pearl.
5
Because this was a video about a specific battle, not the entire war or the thing that happened outside of it.
4
@asinine9ben He's invoking the myth that the US CIA staged everything in 2014 etc.
4
@EFFCtoocool Maybe your perspective and opinion is just wrong?
4
I see you don't understand about how power politics and The Great Game works.
3
The context is that it wasn't just the Arabs of Palestine, but the same Arab nationalism was everywhere, Britain and France were fighting rebellions in Egypt, Iraq and Syria. The statistics are kind of sus. Jewish immigrants were much more likely to be documented by British officials, while Arabs would not. This would skew the numbers, esp. if their extrapolation presumption of the population were inaccurate. In '48 Arabs still had a strong majority of the population.
2
They were by karma...
2
@PeoplecallmeLucifer Oh look, cut and paste soviet propaganda. Poland received areas that had majority Polish populations because that was the supposed point of the Munich "agreement". Russia had tried to invade Poland in 1920 so they were not going to let Soviet forces cross its territory. And so on...
2
It was both.
2
Because you should always critically think, even about things you believe.
2
Saddam was not a nice guy. Like any "war of choice" its always a subjective question.
2
It wasn't politically possible.
2
@thestanleys3657 No there was no UN mandate and the coalition did not sign up for that. The US was based in Saudis and they would not have allowed their territory to be used.
2
Did you like not even watch the video? Oh wait.... this is probably a bot.
2
Because that is false. It mentions them @ 43:01. The Polish Corps was made up of exiles from all over and included other nationalities like the Moroccans. They were trained and equipped by the British and hardly weak. By the time of their attack, the German's were exhausted and low on ammo.
2
@breamoreboy Nice racism.
2
Because it still beats walking.
1
History would say you're wrong.
1
The will as long as some can use it to make money and to force current day policies that favor themselves.
1
It would also be nice to note that it was because Russia had totally corrupted the election process. Oh wait, they did mention that.
1
No but they are trying really hard. Give them a few more months.
1
Less that than the rule of unintended consequences.

Spoiler alert....
