The justification for the war was that Iraq had active CBN programs and production and that Saddam was a threat the region and US directly or supply them to terrorists. This was patently false.

@thestanleys3657 Blah blah blah, there was no mandate to replace Saddam/Bathisht party in Iraq. Which is why it couldn't/didn't happen. Because there were smarter people in the US Admin who knew that what happened in '03 would have happened if they had.

Saddam was not a nice guy. Like any "war of choice" its always a subjective question.

@thestanleys3657 No there was no UN mandate and the coalition did not sign up for that. The US was based in Saudis and they would not have allowed their territory to be used.
