@MohammmadIssa Egypt could have long ago accepted the Palestine Arabs as citizens. It actually owes them that because Egyptian Arab Nationalist promised that they would destroy Israel if the region's Arabs and Bedouins supported the war. When the lost, many times, the Egyptians refused to give them sanctuary because it was politically and strategically valuable to keep the conflict alive.

Not a "substantial number", all of them. Its a tenet of Islam. The Arabs and Palestinians do not want to take in the refugees because having them in the territories gives them a stake and holds the ground. It keeps the conflict alive and unsettled. It keeps the money and military support flowing in to the heads of the strongest militias. The civilians, their people, are nothing but pawns in the power game they are playing.

@Men55578 That is naive AF. And you don't know your history other than what you've been spoon fed by Arab propaganda. For 70 years all they had to do is stop trying to "throw the Jews into the sea", and they would have had their own country or been part of Israel. They haven't been in camps for "75 years". They got pushed there after the war of attrition in the 70s., when the PLO got tricked by the Egyptians into conducting guerrilla war against mostly Jewish citizens. At this point, nothing short of dissolving Israel would make them happy. Peace would only let them rebuild an army to attack again.

@8:00 "If Hamas survives" is irrelevant. What Israel is doing is "building deterrence". They are making the consequences of attacking Israel so terrible and costly that they won't try it again. Even if Hamas "surrenders", another group, probably with the same actors, will rise up again. Any agreements won't be worth the paper they are printed on. The cultural/political conditions in Palestine (or Israel) have not changed. They are in a deadlock of hate and violence cycles.
