Wars of attrition aren't about territory. Media attention/pop culture awareness doesn't mean anything unless it turns vastly negative to force pols to drop support (ie; Vietnam). Considering Russia does a very good job of wearing the black hat, that isn't likely to change. Ukraine would have to territorially collapse and lose its rear areas and access to borders (Poland mostly), for it to lose materials support. There is a lot of supply that is still in the pipeline, like nations still expanding ammo production capacity, much less whole new systems tailored to this specific war. Ukraine has the backing of the full faith and credit of most of NATO, which gives it access to global capital. Russia does not, in fact it has been forced to turn to the grey markets and shady dealings with the worst players in the world to keep both its war and national economies running. Ukraine is fighting a war of survival. Russia is fighting a war of choice. Barring any of the things above going pear shaped, Russia has fewer grains of sand in its hourglass than Ukraine.

@someday2910 Where does your baseless lie come from? Oh yeah, straight from Russian disinfo ministry. How many rubles do you get per post?

@wedgeantilles8575 That is false. Most of the defense production capacity of West was atrophied, shut-in, or completely gone. Because everyone assumed Russia wouldn't be stupid barbarians any more. It takes times to reconstitute that capacity. Even they US has had trouble ramping up production. Rheinmetal did not "not produce ammo", they just did not produce the level promised. However, Germany did provide from existing stocks.

christopherl4249 So you believe the numbers the Russians make up, that talking heads guess at, but not the Ukraine numbers as long as they look like doom and gloom for them? Kinda shows which side your bread is buttered...
