Because every .000999% of the time, that rock is a diamond.
52
Its just leverage, nothing personal.
47
Sinophobia is a terrible thing.
36
Check your sexism. Then go check the prices of NFL/NBA/MLB/etc tickets and merch.
35
Crypto isn't just a US thing. But the fact that a lame cryptoscam can influence the highest levels of US government, yeah.
31
He was always a villain. His mistake was making too many enemies.
28
What makes BTC not a speculative security (or a synthetic commodity) and the other's one? People with power and (real) wealth have bought it and don't want to see it vaporized with the rest of this scam.
25
@o_o8203 Generally being black is also a requirement.
24
Most people are not curious at all. YT makes most of its money off of mindless pop-culture gibberish. Science and intellectual content isn't even a rounding error to them.
20
@LadyBits2023 What is funny is that if you go down the rabbit hole on their profile you'll see that they are exactly the kind of person/company the video warns about. I wonder how much he paid for all those likes...lol
17
Too bad that won't get you a billion dollars though.
17
@jordibt1789 Coal liquefaction requires more energy that it creates you know.
16
I hate to break it to you but AI companies are lots of zeros.
15
Presuming for a moment that you have actually ever had $1000 at one time, what thing or event have you ever paid a similar amount? Asking so we can all unfairly call you a fool for spending your money on what you like.
15
@Pharoh_95 Except your statements are false. Men spend and have 40% more debt than women. Anything else you want to be stupid about?
13
They would probably actually come to market if they were Chinese owned. lol.
12
@4:15 the obvious mistake was that that they didn't use both AI and quantum computing bizzwords. Clearly, if they had said that AI could tell if the coffee pot in the pantry was both full and empty, they would be well on their way up the hockeystick of profitability.
12
Sometimes people do things other than for profit.
11
@evantambolang3052 That is not what it means. What you are describing is called "lobbying" and is not the same thing and has been around for centuries. EA is supposed to be apolitical and finding ways for donations to create solutions to problems, not just their effects. But thanks for demonstrating the damage to EA that SBF caused.
11
I guess you didn't pay attention or understand the video.
11
The average price of a new truck in the US is over $50K. There are many trim levels that top out over $90K now. Their problem isn't price. Its that its an EV. All of the EV makers including Tesla are seeing demand drop. A company still trying to "mature" (execute properly) in the face of that isn't likely to survive.
10
@AvocadoAfficionado Lemme cutnpaste this for you: Developing the technology and infrastructure that enables human travel to Mars, opens the entire solar system and its resources to whomever controls it.
10
It has "Standard Oil Syndrome". In capitalism wealth attracts wealth so any company with market dominance to monopoly power literally can't spend more than it makes or can get from investors. Its only if the market shifts (IBM, Kodak for example) can they lose that.
10
@samsonsoturian6013 lol. no. Crowdfunding gets you a toaster. VC gets you the toaster company.... after you've invested in 99 failed toaster companies.
10
Wallstreet values SpaceX at $180B because you can't calculate ROE on ∞. Developing the technology and infrastructure that enables human travel to Mars, opens the entire solar system and its resources to whomever controls it. The analogy here is the European Colonial Era (without any native people). The first investors in the exploration(exploitation), be they royal or corporate charters, created incredible returns and shaped the world we know today. I'm not a fan of Musk, nor a space cadet, but the skeptical sentiment here reminds of when SpaceX started. But they have already revolutionized orbital launch.
10
That is probably a healthy reaction. You have an innate sense of the moral.
10
Except the part where the leaders exploit their followers, run money laundering rackets, and a propaganda outlet.
10
Because those engineers have an vested (conflict of) interest in telling those bankers any/everything they want to hear so they will write them a big check.
9
Because its all about who you know and how you can sell BS, not a product.
9
"I want criminals to be caught, but not at the expense of our freedoms. " That isn't how that works. LE ability to "catch criminals" requires the imposition on personal freedom and privacy.
9
Esports is all about the commercial enterprise to the guys in polo shirts in the back of the room who have never played a game besides Wall St.
8
I've always pronounced it "dodgy" coin. Because... you know.
8
They are called "rare earth metals" because they are metals and occur in low concentrations in all but a few locations. Any minerals (except sand I guess) could be considered "strategic" so that is a loaded, but vague term.
8
But epically ironic.
7
“Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered” especially when they are keeping the wolves' from their food.
7
@richardfolden3860 Most taxpayers are consumers of fossil fuels, so, nope.
7
@calyodelphi124 Also they will (probably are, I didn't check) being sued civilly for the fraud.
6
Please stop using crappy AI filler art.
6
But did the shorts get burned?
6
If you even consider this, you aren't in their target demographic.
6
Its not.
6
Not every one has a railway dock at their front door.
6
@phillyvoodoo You didn't read my post with enough cynicism. Try again.
6
You feel incorrectly. People get convicted of securities fraud or crimes related to "petty" victims all the time. They just don't make the headlines.
6
Freelance commercial artists have seen their revenues drop by 50% over the past year... That is reality, not impression.
5
There is the stench of misogyny to this one. Swift doesn't do anything that performers and their promoters/management haven't done since the Beetles. She just happens to be very successful at it. A lot of the "relationship building" stuff she does comes from her background in country music, and she does it because she wants to. Not that there is any cynical motivation. No I am not a Swiftie.
5
So obvious and edgy its sure to go to the moon.
5
I'll take "self-dealing" for $400M Alixs.
5
@cpm1003 There are certain people who think that the answer to everything is whatever fetish they have. Trains, bicycles and even more Luddite wishful thinking.
5
Because it was the corporate real estate equivalent of the time-share scam.
