  1.  @keithsimpson2685  Pearl Harbors and others trying their luck tend to be a lot more expensive in blood and treasure than paying to have an overwhelming dominance so no one even tries. A large global navy is how the US enforces the "Pax Americana" and maintains its economic dominance.

  2.  @arizonaexplorations4013  "2 power standard" is not a thing. WWI was fought due to European land status, not because German "tried" (the RN?). Pearl Harbor happened to destroy the US navy's power, not "prevent it from gaining it". You must have learned your history from YT.
