"In a world" (/trailer voice) where review bombings and organized influence campaigns are a thing, did you expect them to react any other way? This is far more a way to control the abuse of the movie review comments than an abuse of it. Hollywood has had movie reviewers in their pockets for decades if not nearly a century now. What has changed recently is increase in the general toxicity of people online (Look here the comments around this one) and you see that pretty much everywhere these days. You make something, and some group somewhere is going to be offended and "gotta do something". Which to some means they are entitled to overvote, hack, or otherwise abuse whatever feedback system. RT is a social media platform, they have zero obligation to have the site and the content posted there show anything other than what "they" want. Its not your web site, its just another marketing outlet for media companies. No, I don't work anywhere near this "industry".
