@soniablanche5672 The person who bought the original product did. Also, you don't "sign anything" when you go into a store and shoplift, but it is still illegal and you will go to jail for it. There is no difference between a digital and a tangible object. Theft still causes harm.

@GTAmaniac1 You are rationalizing. Poorly. Factories produce exact copies of somethings for sale. When you steal digital products instead of paying for them, you are depriving those who produced it of revenues that is their income or what they use to pay other's income. Piracy == parasites.

@Perfidion False. If the "entertainment industry" loses money to theft/piracy, share holders don't suffer. Dividends will be paid and execs will still have their golden parachutes. The people that work for the industry make less income. From creators and artists, to technicians, down to the janitor. Those are the people you are stealing from when you d/l pirated media. If you don't think it matters, look at what happened to VHS/DVD rental industry when a new tech entered to market.
