  1. No one wants to "defeat" the Iranians. Everyone just wants "Them" (the leadership) to stop being assholes. The Soviets and the British didn't have any problem defeating Iran in the 40s. The Islamic Conquest didn't have any problem defeating "Iran". The modern Iran has nothing to do with classical and ancient Persia other than it occupies the same geography. No, the mountains don't provide any impediment to either modern communications and transportation either culturally or militarily. Nor does it drive what passes for its foreign policy. That is an ignorant thesis. The different ethnic groups are there because they live there. Its so sad the quality of this channel has fallen so bad.
