  8.  @-danR  I was back-handedly agreeing with you. Because this has been done before. Many, many projects from paper studies to full up experimental guns. The math does not add up for launching anything but slugs to orbit or bombs to another continent in the most expensive way possible. Which of course is what the military wants.
