So let me get something straight, the Union leadership refused the deal without a member vote on it (which is already outrageous) A deal which increases their wages to a median of $160k plus a year in 4 years from a current median of $135k plus a year, not including benefits and pension...sorry if I sound cynical, but for a median Canadian income of approx $68k a year, makes it very difficult for me to support these unions. By the way, I live in BC, and I barely make it. To know these people are making more than double I do in my profession and still demanding even better wages and working conditions than they receive now, makes it impossible for me to feel sympathy for their cause.

  11. I have a crazy idea, how about developing new renewable energy systems, retrofitting the current infrastructure and training all these people for it? If we continue to make excuses to keep oil flowing, we will never (as in until it runs dry) be able to get away from it.

I don't think that a corporation inherently is the cause of all of our problems, but mostly the leaders that allow said corporations to operate the way they do and also our own corporations wanting to emulate Chinese "sweat shop" practices in order to increase their next quarter results. Conservatives are as guilty of this as the Liberals are, of that I have no doubt.
