Honestly, I think the problem with the new movies was not the actors but the writing and directing. Same thing happened with the prequels, they were all garbage, but I am sure more than one person who grew up with them may still see them with rose tinted glasses and even feel that Jar Jar was a very "amusing" character. I mean, yeah, it sucks that Daisy and the rest of the cast had to play such dumbass characters, but that is not on her. Still, I can't blame fans for being the rabid assholes they have matured to be, it's a fandom thing that comes with the territory and the suits at Disney still do not understand that.
