  2. Well said, Veteran. The trouble with today's younger generations is that they can't see beyond their own noses about the fact that one day, if they're lucky, they'll reach old age. I'm 73 and had to wait until I reached 63 before I could receive a small pension, having worked my whole life since I left school at 16. Stay safe and well, wherever you are.

Of course the population growth is slowing down - partly because of our environmental changes, but mainly because we no longer have a great need for manual labour, which has now been replaced by mechanical and technical means. Since long before Convid was introduced, us oldies (I'm 73) were becoming a problem in the balance, due to lower birth rates and longevity. Hence, euthanasia is now a popular topic, which I have no objection to if it's used for the correct principles, e.g. illness and suffering. However, no matter what we humans may say, do, or believe in as a whole, we are not in control of our own destiny. Why? Because we are far too greedy and selfish to have the capacity for unity. We've always enjoyed killing each other and taking what we want, without any consideration towards the long-term effects. We have wasted an enormous amount of our own resources through wars and destruction of our own world, instead of creating an environment in which we could all survive. We have the ability, but not the will. Overall, we've made a complete mess of our world, and we only have ourselves to blame for that. We have always been our own worst enemy, and we always will be.

  8. Sorry, Da Vinci, but you're not getting your facts right about some of the issues you've discussed here, particularly when it comes to anywhere outside the US. Also, you didn't even once mention the UK amongst all this, yet it plays a vital part in world policies. The US will crumble long before most of Europe will. As for Russia and China, they'll be fine.

  9.  @serily4524  Yes, indeed. Although I'm 73, I'm still fairly active and like to help people who are older and less able than myself. Friendship and communication are very important aspects of life when one gets old. Take care.

  10. I noticed how he left the UK out of all this, though, and his description of Paris was way off. Yes, at 73, I can see what our government is doing to the UK and, unless we find a truly national party, our country is going to continue going down the drain. Stay safe and well, wherever you are.

  11. Apart from very few, the only people who are hoarding money are the elites.....the very ones who control and take from those who have to work hard to make ends meet. The main problem with the world, as a whole, is the greed of our governments.
