This was a fascinating and very informative discussion, so thank you very much for airing it.
15% is a horrificly high number.....but very profitable for the pharmaceutical companies. That's it in a nutshell.
I'm currently in the throes of withdrawal symptoms, having reduced my seven-year use of Sertraline 100mg to 50mg on 07/02/23 (2.5 weeks ago), in an attempt to eventually stop using it altogether. So far, it's been sheer hell, but I'm determined to stick at it, no matter how long it takes.
A year or so ago, I began to wonder if my long-term use of Sertraline was beginning to have detremental effects on my overall health and well-being. This worried me, because I've never been one to use medication or drugs of any kind. I'll be 72 in May, and am still fit and active.
I'm angry that my GP didn't suggest a short period of some months, with regular review visits to the surgery, or inform me of the horrendous effects of withdrawal.
