  1. I'm 71, and also have never used a mobile phone, so I've no idea what way we're going to survive without one. It wouldn't surprise, though, if they're made mandatory, such as "Take it or leave it" attitude. After all, us oldies are not important to the agenda any longer, so I don't think there'll be much fuss if we all drop dead from starvation and/or freezing to death.

  6.  @calum1741  Stay positive, Calum. I don't say that lightly, either, because my younger life was very hard at times, but I never gave up. Just ensure that you have your basic needs, no more and no less. Give a helping hand if you can, even if that's only psychological or physical support of any kind. It's not always the case, but one usually gets what one gives in life, no matter how long that may take. Survival relies on positive thinking, so try to stay that way. Patricia😊

  9.  @calum1741  Ah well, with Irish in your blood, you've gotten off with a good start. I know it's easier said than done, but don't let anyone try to put you down. The ones who do that are the ones who are weak, and their envy of your own strengths is clearly shown by their nasty and resentful behaviour. They like to fool themselves into thinking that they're better than you, when in fact, you know better than to let them pull you down with them. Stay strong. It works!

  11.  @calum1741  It was fine! A bit different from the Dublin I was used to, but a whole new world for me to explore. I started off in bedsit-land, then to shared flats, then to my own flat. I didn't buy my first home until I was 40, but hadn't been in any rush to do so, anyway. Too many people make the mistake of trying to "keep up with the Jones's", and worry about their appearance and status. What for? As long as you've got a roof over your head, food in the cupboard, and few good friends, nothing else matters. As the saying goes, the less you have, the less you have to lose. Why want more than you need?
