There is no such thing as a religion of peace.
All religions have a nasty side to them, to some degree or other, just as all politics have, and were created for one reason only - merely as a distraction from reality in order to control and dominate the masses. Religion is just a mask, and has very little to do with the politics behind it.
The teachings of Islam are to destroy anyone and anything that gets in the way of its world domination, therefore achieving "peace". Fear has always been the most powerful tool of humanity.
Whilst we all continue to fight between ourselves, the slimy oligarchs of our societies are quietly making sure that no-one will ever have any say about who lives and who dies.
I am a very peaceful atheist who is willing to kill anyone who threatens my life, and I don't need an imaginary deity to tell me what the difference is between right and wrong. Comparing one religion to another achieves nothing, either.
How we interpret any given scripture mainly depends on how we perceive our own world. However, the Quran doesn't leave anything to the imagination, and is very clear about its purpose.
It doesn't matter what someone's religion is or is not.
Humans will do what they want to do or need to do.
Using religion as an excuse is pathetic and childish.
Christians enjoyed fighting and killing each other when it came to Catholics versus Protestants, and so do the various Muslim factions to this day.
Americans are on par with Muslims when it comes to fanatical religion. Superiority has always been one big ego trip for both parties, and the US is just as well practiced at it as the religion of pieces. Romulus and Remus.
Civil "unrest" (aka war) has been quietly brewing in the UK and the US for some time, and the more their governments try to pile onto the public, the more likely it is to happen sooner than later.
