  1. I was a real tomboy during the 1950's (I'm nearly 74 now), maybe partially because I had a twin brother, as well as going to a boys' school which had just transitioned to a mixed one, but was still predominantly boys. Either way, it didn't have any adverse effects on me as, by the time I reached 14, I began to take an interest in girlish things. No harm done, and I thoroughly enjoyed my tomboy activities.
