  8. Thank you for covering the history of the Irish potatoe famine, 42. I've been a Dublin lass since 1951, although I now live in the UK. No, the Gaelic language wasn't wiped out by the famine, it was forced by the British invaders by brutal means. The Gaelic alphabet is similar to the Roman one, but doesn't have the letters of J, K, Q, V, W, X, Y, or Z in it. Also, the "th" sound doesn't exist in our language, so that's why many Irish still say "tree" instead of "three". During my schooling, it was compulsory to learn Gaelic (I left school in 1967) and, as far as I know, it was always taught in all Irish schools. Oh, and remember the signs put in the windows of all English boarding houses, etc, during the early 1900's? "No blacks, and no Irish". Here endeth my little history lesson. Take care.

I would put a bet on that, but I'd much rather that we save the bee and ban the use of all dangerous chemicals. We are not only destroying the bees, animals and the environment, we're wiping ourselves off the face of this planet.....slowly.....but surely.🐝🐝🐝

  21. All these brutal and destructive wars.....for what?!!? Here we are in 2024, continually repeating the same scenarios over and over again - an endless and self-destructive route which only travels around the same circle. If (a gigantic word) we could achieve permanent world peace (which both world wars did not), there might be some form of justification in killing and destroying so many lives.....but that never happens, because there is no such thing as a winner. Rather than attack and destroy those who are deemed to be our enemies (often a fake label used as an excuse by the greedy and lying hierarchy), all that time, money, and energy could be spent in helping to make improvements in the third world countries that need it to become independent and self-catering. China certainly seems to be taking that step and, no, I won't get into the pros and cons involved in that. So here we are, on the verge of a third world war which we already know will never achieve world power, and only end up making life worse for everyone. At 72, I'm ready to leave this world when my time comes, but I'd really like the world to be at peace before I do. It IS possible!!!

  22. The pros and cons of tourism is just six of one and half a dozen of the other.....it gives what it takes, and it takes what it gives, so it's a real catch 22. Scratching your name into ancient stonework should receive a heavy fine, plus being permanently banned from the country where you committed it. If deterrents are severe enough, then the idiots of this world may actually use what little brain matter they have. Respect costs nothing, so treat people and places in the same way that you'd expect others to treat you and your home country.

  38. Being an Irish lass, I also added a few bits of extra information for the record. However, it was still a very good video. I always remind myself that history is often written in a biased manner, and then passed on to our children at school, so we can't always get everything right. Stay well.

  42. I have no doubt that we could already have very low cost energy supplies to all our homes and businesses. However, that wouldn't be profitable enough to our "suppliers", which is the greatest hurdle to confront, as well as the true crux of the matter. For example, there already is (and has been for some time) a cure for cancer, but our pharmaceutical buddies wouldn't like to lose their profits on all the wonder drugs and "cures" they churn out to us every year. I mean, that would be like them telling us that eating grapefruit can be a very dangerous substance when taking certain types of medication. Fact. Like all big businesses, the best way to sell your product is to create a "problem" for which you can offer the solution......at a price.
