  2.  @isking1715  A stirrer? What on earth makes you think that from my brief comment of agreement with someone? I found his description rather amusing, too.....and that's it. Hmm, interesting how you chose to read something into my words that wasn't there, although your reaction is a prime example of how easily some people can be "stirred". The sensitivity of this whole issue is, quite rightly, very high, but is also a two-sided coin when it comes to dogs and their owners. Yorkshire terriers and Jack Russells can be very nasty and aggressive little runts, whereas some of the larger breeds can be soft and gentle. However, the larger dogs hold a far greater threat when it comes to possible attacks, for obvious reasons. Many years ago, I was badly bitten in my thigh by a neighbour's German Shepherd/Alsatian when I went to retrieve the hoover they'd borrowed from me, but it wasn't the dog's fault in that case. They asked me if I wanted them to have it "put down", to which I vehemently said NO, because it was due to their own carelessness. The crux of the matter lies with the lack of dog control in the UK, which covers a wide range of issues which should be addressed, such as..... 1. Unlicensed breeders. 2. Unsuitable owners. 3. Dog licensing. 4. Mandatory muzzles on certain breeds, and leads on every dog in all public places. Some dogs are more suitable for domestication than others, just as some people are more suitable to be owners than others. Until that line is drawn, nothing will change. Stay safe and well, wherever you are.
