So if CRISPR can cut up genes, why can't researchers use it to cut up Covid19 and destroy it? Anyone ever thought of that?

Luke Wilson What makes you think humans could fly through the air or land on the moon? A few years ago, someone also used technical-sounding terms to tell me that it is not possible to produce an electric car with a range of more than 200 miles. Today's Tesla Model S Plaid can go 500 miles on a single charge.....just as I predicted. In fact, I even predicted then that there will eventually be electric cars that can go 600, 700, or 1,000 miles or more on a single charge. The upcoming Tesla roadster will have a 600 mile single charge range. Why is it so difficult for you to imagine that if CRISPR can splice a gene sequence and insert a new one that it can just splice up a virus gene to destroy it? In fact, that is PRECISELY what the natural bacterial process does anyway. You'll see as time goes on.....

Luke Wilson And the people living in 1900 asked Robert Goddard how he would be able to build a rocket big enough to carry men to the moon. "Are you OK, Robert? Everything working up there? Man can't even fly right now (1900) and you want to build a what to send men where?" The idea of sending men to the moon on a rocket violates no physical laws just as using CRISPR to destroy viruses violates no natural laws. Therefore, the only limit is current technology and that will change over time.
