The failure of Iron Dome to protect Israel is a perfect example of complacency as a result of over-reliance / over confidence in a system that appears so invincible. There is no such thing as a magic bullet. When I was in the U.S. Air Force, my commanders always told us before every deployment to not be so dependent on a single equipment. Always have a back up and always think ahead of what would happen if your equipment fails. In other words, don't let the defense contractors convince you that their weapons are invincible. No weapon is.

@IBNED Obviously, the helicopter was NOT at 200ft altitude. So, telling the Helo to maintain 200 would still result in the collision. It looks like the Helo pilot set the Altimeter wrong, hence she thought she was at 200 ft when she was really not.

@billwhite9703 Whatever you claim MUST BE supported by hard, cold, facts. And so far, there are some hard, cold, facts: 1) The helicopter was higher than it's supposed to be 2) The pilot only has 450 hours total flight time 3) Aviation accident statistics show that pilots with less than 500 hours are more likely to be involved in a mishap

@IBNED I thought about that too but the question is was the Blackhawk equipped with a radar altimeter and was it on?

@rm-ih1ns NTSB ALREADY verified the blackbox of the jet indicated it was flying at 325 feet when the helicopter hit it. Logic: the helicopter must be at the same altitude otherwise they wouldn't have collided, right? US Army admitted the Blackhawk pilot only had 450 hours flight time. Aviation accident data over decades show that pilots with less than 500 hours are more prone to mishaps. Pilot insurance rate is higher for pilots with less than 500 hours total time.
