  1. The problem is NOT that positivity is toxic - it's that they use that to trick you into working hard for them yet do NOT give you a share in the positive results. Don't confuse that with the REAL feeling of contentment when you have a family to come home to. I was single MUCH LONGER than most so I know what it was like to live an empty life where no one needs you nor cares about you.

  2. @SoloSecondHalf  I didn't mean to gaslight anyone. I am just tired of all the posts about how great living alone is when it is simply not true (I've been there!) I know you are upset but again don't confuse con jobs with the real McCoy. There is such a thing as a self-fulfilling prophecy - if you keep praising how great being alone is and that being in a relationship is a lie, then the Universe will give you what you keep stating. I have a brother who is like that. Every time I talk to him, he brags about how free he is to do whatever he wants. At first, I praised him for having the means to do whatever he wants, when he wants (he's a millionaire). But all he did was criticize me, my wife, and my kids. Indeed, he's the one gaslighting me! Then I realize he actually is not happy with his life at all, which I find ironic - after all, he is a millionaire and could afford to travel the world, buy what he wants, devote time to pursue any hobbies he wants. If he's really happy, he'd be too busy doing what makes him happy rather than calling me and criticizing my life for no reason.
