  7. I spent 20 years in the U.S. Air Force and I can tell you that the weakness of the U.S. military lies in it's leadership at the very top - the Pentagon and above. Regarding the war in Ukraine, top U.S. military leaders grossly under-estimated Russia's strength and resolve as well as over-relied on high-tech weapons. It's a ground war and there is no gee-whiz weapon that could replace boots on the ground. Indeed, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, General Mark Milley, admitted that Ukraine cannot defeat Russia militarily. This, after sending $80 billion worth of equipment to Ukraine. Unless we could somehow assemble and send over about 1 million troops, it's pretty much over for Ukraine at this point.
