Radar travels at the speed of light so yes, it could detect these objects. But, as soon as the radar try to track them was when the radar got jammed. The radar on the Princeton is a solid state digital phased array radar. That means it could steer its beam electronically without having to mechanically point the radar dish like in the old days. Instead of a dish, it has a flat panel that does not move. Therefore, it could detect these objects going across the sky.

  25. FACT: the Blackhawk was at 325 ft (confirmed by blackbox) the SAME altitude as the jet (otherwise they would not have collided!) Now, the reasons why could be altimeter malfunction or pilot error. Being that the Blackhawk pilot only has 450 hours total flight time, my guess is the pilot entered the wrong altimeter setting.

  41. I don't agree with making rich people pay more for utilities just because they are rich. But the rich should pay more for violating laws where the punishment is monetary, such as exceeding the speed limit. Why? Because the purpose of speeding tickets is to discourage people from doing it again, right? Therefore, the amount must hurt otherwise, they'll do it again! So if the government wants to raise revenue, that is the fairest way - speeding tickets should be based on percentage of income, not same amount for everybody. But not utilities - there is no logical reason for making rich pay more for that. In fact, they most likely pay more already simply because they use more - bigger house, bigger and faster EV, etc.
