Motive: to shut down China's economy and prevent them from overtaking the U.S. as the dominant global empire. It hasn't worked - China's GDP actually grew by 18% during the Pandemic thanks to Amazon orders. So now, the U.S. is sending massive warships to the South China Sea to block China's trade routes under the guise of "Freedom of Navigation". Again, the idea is to bring down China's economy.
