Years ago, that would have been considered police brutality and excessive force. The taser was never invented for purposes such as this. It was to be Used in place of deadly force.

@freecycle53215 Well you can't just go zapping people with 50,000 volts with a human cattle prod. That lowers the police to their level. Certainly, the judge would admonish the Sheriffs if they pulled out the old PR-24s or ASPS and clobbered the courtroom miscreant. Perhaps some duct tape or Gorilla tape would be more apropos to the situation .

@freecycle53215 But like I first stated. The guy that invented the Taser laments that he did so now in the first place. It wasn't to be used as a come along tool or to silence speech. It was supposed to be used in place of a gun or the night stick. Remember, some people will die from the use of the Taser. It is considered deadly force. And it has been improved with higher voltages and joules since it was first introduced.
