  2. True, but failure under the scientific method simply results in a "back to the drawing board" mode of thinking, whereas failure under faith or belief can be deadly. Consider as an example, the "end of the world" hoaxes over the years that have snookered some believers into snuffing themselves out of fear.

Some of the students are destined to be English lit majors, other will go into fashion, others will stick with maths and physics, but the majority will go to the generic way of thinking. Nobody can be forced or taught to be intelligent, they have to want to be intelligent.
