  1. It appears that the USSR never mastered the plastic extrusion process for product housings. The defects sited here are things that occurred in the US in the late 1940s-early 1950s at the beginning of the introduction of plastic cased consumer goods, but these issues were resolved by the 1960s. The USSR never escaped the time warp.
