Commie blocks are people living on floors above one another. You cannot compare that to single family housing tracts. Complain about property separation, yes but to squawk about American suburbs looking alike is stupid.

@BluePieNinjaTV BS. There are plenty of places where residents can walk without fear and respond without fear if a threat takes place.
17
@3of11 BosnianBill and Lock Picking Lawyer already showed that those locks are no match for a cordless angle die grinder. The best security is to choose to live where the thieves cannot get to.
13
@Nicholas-f5 If you think that the cops are going to go all out for your bike, you’re wrong.
13
Freedom is not having to live near this: https://youtu.be/DpWNUz3P0I0

@UCgOZKmyEmmfBtXNGO6_GkdQ Great. I can just imagine some doofus going into the hood to try to retrieve his stolen bike. “Er, uhm, I think you have my bicycle in your house…may I have it back?”

It isn't a tourist attraction. It is not a commonly known location even within Philthy. CityBeautiful is flat out lying when he says it is a tourist attraction. The only street in to the US that is narrow and is known as a tourist attraction is Lombard street in San Francisco, and that is for its quirkiness.

Drue-Michael Buono Whites just prefer to not live in a diverse area. Nothing wrong with that. Human capital is a real thing in life.
7
@daveharrison84 Given history the concern is well warranted.
6
J.R Cody “Sumimasen!” as you are pushed into a packed subway car and goosed on the bum by a pervert pretending to be engrossed in a manga novel.
4
That would require people to live together with some they hate and want gone. Not going to happen.
4
@haroldinho9930 No you don’t. I have seen your suburbs outside Belfast and Derry, and they are nothing like American suburbs.
4
ddylla85 He is lying.
4
@nehcooahnait7827 Low income is directly tied to bad culture in the US. If he wasn’t prejudiced he’d be a fool.
4
@BluePieNinjaTV BS. You see one murder or B&E too many in your area and anyone with good sense is looking for the exit. No one gets indoctrinated into running. You get forced into it by those you have to run from.
4
Off zone businesses can cause civil liability in the USA if something goes wrong.
4
Stop pretending you don’t know why people don’t want sidewalks in front of their house.
4
jur4x A leftover from the older days. It is easier to control people when they all reside close together. One of the major reasons why Americans don’t like communal housing outside of cities.
4
@night6724 Don’t want it, but reality sucks here. If everyone did right and got along, chances are we could have nice things like corner shops and such. But that is not the case. Segregation started sprawl but it can also stop it too.
3
@steemlenn8797 It’s very simple if you take a moment to figure it out. Corner stores are crime magnets. You do not want crime in your area (unless you’re crazy). Therefore, having stores, gas stations, businesses etc mixed in to a residential area…is a really bad idea. The cities do this, and you only need to examine them to understand why civilized people have abandoned them and sought remote accommodations. The only way your dream can ever come to pass is through genocide, which is not happening.
3
@MrTaxiRob Tell me, how do the Japanese keep the crime rate so low?
3
Go sit at the back of any bus in the USA and you too will discover very quickly why Americans of more civilized cultures are not fans of buses and trains.
3
It would never sell. The moment to toxic neighbor, the value of the whole place will drop to the floor and people will be running for the doors.

To be fair, Moses was a racist, along with Levitt and many of the era. Racism was a part of the social fabric of that time, and he should not be judged by modern eyes without proper cognition. It was a simple fact of life that Blacks and PRs were a curse upon NYC; neighborhoods that had been white and safe were turned into filthy ghettos that no one of any sanity wanted to live in. Urbanists like to pin the blame on automobiles and lack of mass transit and irrational fear, etc but will never accept the fact that people like to live in safety without fear, and NYC lost huge amounts of population precisely because of this.
2
@nopunts9947 Ethnic enclaves are not against the law.
2
@jgwil2 I grew up near there. No one, not a teacher or tourist guide or even a local ever mentioned the place being any more than just a quirk from the past. The fact that you are pumping it up to be something more than it is just wreaks of BS.
2
@TrangleC I grew up in cities. Philthy and -ew York. I also traveled frequently to Boston and DC and even B'more(before it died). With the exception of Boston and -ew York, none of them are places I would consider good to live in and pay taxes to. It is ironic that these twits are talking up urbanism right at the same time that the areas that are growing the fastest are the suburbs and rural areas in the most rural states.
2
@GIRLRAZR Fox? Please...
2
HOAs are annoying, but stop neighborhood value collapse and blockbusting from happening. They stop panic selling and toxic neighbors from ruining the area.
2
That town is meant for residents who don’t want a corner store nearby. They moved there to get away from it in the first place and now you want to make them have a reason to move again to create new suburbs and even more sprawl. Why not just leave those who want to be left alone…alone? Concentrate on improving cities instead.
2
@csmlyly5736 You can pet a cow.
2
@disfordumboo4411 Crime doesn’t happen because of people liking crime?
2
Mochamad Fachri American suburbs are rural. They simply happen to be close to urban areas, but do not share the character of it.
2
If you have a bakery or cinema around the corner from you, that means you probably also have a “problem” nearby also. The whole point of the suburbs is refuge from exactly that. Americans tried the whole “walk to everything” garbage long ago and quickly learned that it was a bad idea.
2
Eugenia Raud Isn’t it also true that back in the Soviet days you could not move from one place to another without permission from the government, and that you could not quit a job if you didn’t like it? Urban apartment life was fitting for Russians in that it made people easier to control.
2
Jeff P A good sized plat of land filled with nature, a house of size that blends into the scenery and vehicles that don’t bottom out on a pothole. No nosy or threatening neighbors to have to call the cops on for acting like animals, just the sounds of the woodpeckers and coyotes traveling in the wind.
2
CommunistLenin I’m sorry, but that sounds absolutely horrific.
2
Beware…speaking truth is dangerous around here.
2
@BluePieNinjaTV Kids can still walk to each others houses without sidewalks. They do it all the time. Stop trying to urbanize the countryside.
2
@lesliechristopher9400 The paranoia existed long ago and still does today. The only reason it is still allowed to is that it is not paranoia but painful reality.
2
@herlescraft That answer you’re thinking of is wrong. Its the OTHER one that applies to all the USA. You know what it is.
2
Robert Moses was only relevant in the New York area, which was culturally and politically separate from the United States from the 1920s forwards. The only "Americans" who speak of him are all in NYC and usually college students.
2
Subsidized by who? The people who don’t use it?
2
@monty58 It’s the ridership that’s garbage, not the trains themselves.
2
Excremento, lol.
2
@Callaxis It’s easier to kill a neighborhood than to bring it back in the US.
2
@Lankpants All the more money and social programs thrown at the problem have failed to make a dent. Redesign of the cities is pointless because design was never the issue. The issue has been and always will be antisocial behavior on behalf of one ethnic group that overwhelmingly dominates the population in US urban centers. Jobs, free money, free anything means nothing if the people receiving it don’t care.
2
@Bustermachine Corporations behave no differently than individuals. One riot or rape too many sent them packing, and nobody gives a damn about those left behind because they got what they deserved for ruining other peoples lives. Detroit should just be demolished at this point.
2
@Armament Armed Arm Sapporo is almost totally Japanese, isn’t it?
2
@Zaydan Naufal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hamtramck,_Michigan Dude…it’s a ghetto.
