Drue-Michael Buono Whites just prefer to not live in a diverse area. Nothing wrong with that. Human capital is a real thing in life.

J.R Cody “Sumimasen!” as you are pushed into a packed subway car and goosed on the bum by a pervert pretending to be engrossed in a manga novel.

ddylla85 He is lying.

jur4x A leftover from the older days. It is easier to control people when they all reside close together. One of the major reasons why Americans don’t like communal housing outside of cities.
4
Mochamad Fachri American suburbs are rural. They simply happen to be close to urban areas, but do not share the character of it.

Eugenia Raud Isn’t it also true that back in the Soviet days you could not move from one place to another without permission from the government, and that you could not quit a job if you didn’t like it? Urban apartment life was fitting for Russians in that it made people easier to control.

Jeff P A good sized plat of land filled with nature, a house of size that blends into the scenery and vehicles that don’t bottom out on a pothole. No nosy or threatening neighbors to have to call the cops on for acting like animals, just the sounds of the woodpeckers and coyotes traveling in the wind.

CommunistLenin I’m sorry, but that sounds absolutely horrific.

spqr1945 Politburo and Presidium members did not live in those roach pits. They had nice single family residences in closed off areas that the proletariat could not enter and had beautiful dachas on the coasts of the Black Sea. I’m sorry if I insult, but the Russian people were easily fooled into accepting a crappy existence. Tall nails, they were not.

John Nguyen Wait a minute...there are houses still standing in Detroit?

Marcin Kalbarczyk Fences are ok, but not needed entirely. Marlins are better.

thebombson It won’t happen in the USA because residents have the right to sell and move at will. It used to be that if you had a bad neighbor they got chased out, but now it’s just move out. There is always a nicer place farther away that gives piece of mind that you can have.
1
Eugenia Raud Why did they need permission? That’s a strange concept to me, adults having to ask permission to do simple things.
1
Ginger Cities are nice places to visit if they have a good vibe, but not to live in if you are white.

But what about feelings...?
1
Aditya Raja Gummadavelly Don’t criticize the residents there. Their homes are part of their culture, which outsiders have no right to judge. Calling them poor quality smacks of racist judgement.
1
CommunistLenin You would not want me as a neighbor. I would make your life miserable and either one of us would have no choice but to flee to a single family house. Think about it. Do you want an anti-social person as a neighbor? How about someone whose cultural mores drive you up the wall? You would hold on for only so long before doing something about it.

Kevin Marinas Disney tried that. It was called Celebration, Florida. Social engineering communities never goes well.
1
Kevin Marinas Zoning, planned development, what is the difference? It’s politicians and developers trying to force a cultural narrative into existence. In addition, no one wants to live in a ghetto slum either.

@jur4x Ok, you DO raise a very good point there. The heating issue is a very big deal there.

@koolmckool7039 What is it then, according to you?
1
@koolmckool7039 If you are relegated to walking while those who rule over you are able to drive, guess who wins? And your statement about the US government being in control is asinine given they can't even stop dime bag rate criminals from crossing state lines, let alone maintain security for the government. And no, people did not live closer because it was "easier." Get in your time machine and go back to the lower east side of NYC circa 1900 - Jacob Riis times, and spout that crap. You'll get a punch to the face by some housewife with 7 kids and a semi-sober husband in a one room cold water elevated railroad flat. The first opportunity anyone who could afford to escape had, they did and did not look back.
1
spqr1945 That depends on where you are living, though. City and suburban families are not having many children but the birth rate in the rural areas is skyrocketing. Some special areas also have an increase taking place; Utah and Arizona are examples of that. MOs like big families.

pijuskri Community pools are dirty. The neighbors are filthy people who have no manners or proper culture. Can’t stand to be near them. Would love to get rid of them but can’t. See house in countryside. Nice big house with huge backyard and full of cute furry animals. Pool in backyard is a dream come true. Can’t resist. Slap life savings on it and begin to move out of the city. Neighbors ask, “where you going?” I tell them, “a place where you are not”.

Craig F. Thompson Uhhh, what? Control was a Soviet thing.
1
Matt Wolverton Not everyone wants to be your neighbor, though. And I’m sure you don’t want a bad neighbor either. Community should only be for those who want it.
