  4. The irony about Jewish surnames is that they technically did not exist in the past. They were forced into existence by various governments in order to attempt to integrate the Jews into their majority populations. So called “traditional” German Jewish surnames are either copied from existing ones or were contrived by the individual to confer a rank on oneself.

  7. Which is astounding given that even then the maps of the time made it very apparent that Africa and South America and North America were all conjoined at some time in the past. Nicely shaped puzzle pieces but yet the experts of that time thought they could not have fit together somehow.
