But the funds have to come from somewhere not imaginary, correct? Another state enterprise that is productive has to be funding this otherwise the budget numbers would not stack and the currency/economy would suffer. We can rob Peter to pay Paul only as long as Peter is alive and healthy.

@wg9830 Overbuilding might kill Peter, though. The concern here should be that total exports have to make up for the construction, upkeep and operation of all these things otherwise it all falls apart. Capitalism or communism…everyone MUST balance their budgets or their currency becomes a joke.

@wg9830 The Chinese economy looks scary to me in that exports are the bulk of it. If Trump gets re-elected in 2024, it seems that it could spell disaster for USA China trade after all that has happened.

That makes little sense. If no free mobility is allowed, why have trains?

High speed automated electric roads are a far better choice for Texas than HSR. If they build it, it will become a white elephant fast because there’s little hope of it making a profit.

@SherrifOfNottingham Nobody wants it in the USA. It serves zero purpose.

@MrMeoow91 It is not that the USA is too big, it is that Americans do not live in cities and avoid cities at all costs, which is the opposite of the rest of the world. You cannot serve all the suburbs around a city with HSR as the costs would be prohibitive, so HSR is a no go in the USA.
