  1. Don't live in the major cities on the coasts. The first way to save money is to not give it to a bank or landlord just to make a fashion statement or have a "crib".

  5.  @xKarenWalkerx  They didn't make the money to pay their crews. Not for that flight. That flight was a loser, just like the others which explains why Spirit is on deaths doorstep now. Run the damn math, you cannot support $250k salaries with sky high fuel prices while giving rides away for free to the public. And don't bring Europe in as a counterargument, because Europe funds their airlines using taxpayer money and is highly protectionist, something the US is not.

  7. My only disagreement with you is CEO salaries. You cannot get, or expect to get, a Gordon Bethune on the cheap. Kellehers, Crandalls, Bethunes, are expensive and damn well should be. You want a cheap CEO? Goto Yale, get a degree then get the experience to survive the vetting by the board of directors as well as the shareholders(aka, the FUNDERS), then work the job for a crap wage, and see how long you last. You get what you pay for when it comes to leadership, and nobody in their right mind will lead for nothing.

  8. The market can't support the wild west competition this hit piece talks about. Go ask Spirit or JetBlue where competition has gotten them. The workers are tired of waiting for promises, they want their money.

  10. How do you define a screw up? If you whine about a delayed flight, and the feds lean on the airline to state the reason why the flight was late and the airline digs up the reason and it is safety related...your whining was all for naught, because once safety is invoked your complaint is meaningless. They can point to federal law that dictates how to do things, all you can point to is your mouth.

  11.  @gumpyoldbugger6944  These company CEOs are buffoons. They think that the old rules of housing from the 1950s and 60s no longer apply. They naively believe that they can safely make money from usurious housing, but the fact is that they are always one grease fire or race riot away from financial disaster. Their greed is not the sin here, it is their stupidity. Let them try to pull this scam off, but the free market and social structure will eventually put them in the doghouse where they belong.
