@Tolpuddle581 The US mainland is not vulnerable. An invading force would have to be massive in size with a logistics pipeline unlike anything ever done before. There is no nation that can afford, let alone coordinate such a thing. Not to mention that there are hundreds of military bases inside the US, and thousands of tactical and strategic nukes that would make anyone so foolish as to try a stunt like that wish they hadn't. To paraphrase a military tactician, "what good is the conquest of another nation if your own nation is destroyed in the process?" If you had said that closing the bases in Guam or Japan would be harmful, yes I would agree with you. But SK is not those places and Fat Kim is not dumb enough to invade SK because even the SK military alone is enough to make him give pause. The US is no longer needed there. SK can easily stand on its own.

Mark Anthony In their defense, they had a perfectly manageable version of socialism that worked when applied to a homogeneous population. The moment that immigration ran haywire is when their spending took off like mad. Now they are paying the price of kindness.

Reza Killer Then why did Western European nations agree to bring the USA in after WW2?

1369Stiles How about this? Socialism is HIV with drugs to manage it, while communism is full blown AIDS.

87Wayne Cuban healthcare superiority is a myth pushed by leftists to try to shame the American system. Go to Cuba when the tour guides aren’t showing you around on dog chain bus tours, and you’ll quickly realize that the place sucks. Run down buildings, shortages of basic needs for no good reason, little Hitlers in every town running the show who get all the goods while everyone else gets zip.

Torontopia By your name I am guessing you are living in Toronto. Good for you. You live in the New York City of Canada. Good hospitals there and plenty of doctors (although they keep jumping the border for some reason...does Canada pay them enough to encourage them to stay?). But, I would ask you to get the opinions of people out beyond the GTA in the places you most likely will never visit. NF, NS, Ab, etc. Not saying it’s a bad system, but that it doesn’t exactly meet its promises out beyond the last mile areas.

1369Stiles The Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Maoist China. Cuba under Castro. Vietnam. And of course, Venezuela. But let me guess...you are going to say they were not practicing “true” socialism or communism, right? It just needs some tweaking and few fixes, right? And they just have to force more people to be patriotic stooges of the revolution, by gun point if need be...right?

L.C.H If you examine old films of the Soviet congress meetings, it becomes readily apparent as to who did not have to ration food during their many crop failures. Some of those sessions resembled a fat persons convention, while some poor farm worker stuck on a collective farm looked like an escapee from Dachau.

Mark Anthony Ever notice that all the best hospitals are in Toronto and Vancouver but no where else? Ever notice that the refugees that Canada takes in always end up in those two places, no matter where they are first settled?

YorickReturns Are you saying that doctors should not get good pay? Tell me, is it fair that a moron kicking a ball should be paid more than someone who can perform a heart transplant on you to save your life? How about actors? Does the adult equivalent of a high school drama club member deserve more than the woman who can cure you of your cancer? Who deserves the good lifestyle?
