  2. That is actually not a terrible idea. It is already funded via tax dollars, so fares are really nothing but extra frosting. The bigger problem is reining in the spending budgets to compensate. Good luck convincing AOC to go along with it.

  3.  @lolblehXD It is already funded through taxes, so fares are really just double dipping the public. A free transit system would invite increased ridership, even a lowered fare system would do this. How about reining in reckless spending by the MTA and other agencies to compensate…like not paying $250k a year for no show jobs to goombas who get away with it just because of their last names?
