  1. Every genome has segments that match others distantly related. Some of those segments have ethnic markers that can be specific to certain backgrounds. But…the segment has to be in a genomic location that influences outward appearances. In addition, it has to be large enough to cover multiple SNPs. So, DNA does not lie, but it may not be readily visible.
