This case is absolutely rotten!! I'm not saying Lucy Letby is innocent but I feel like the first trial was done very poorly! The Countess of Chester was said to be very poorly run, with unsanitary conditions and untrained staff! No one wants to believe that hospital staff would be so incompetent but staff are overrun and infections are sadly more common than we'd like to believe!! If Lucy is innocent than that shows how evil the consultants and doctors who testified against her are! It appears she was the perfect scapegoat! If a fair re-trial with satisfactory evidence shows and proves beyond reasonable doubt, then fair enough!! However, before hearing about the flaws in this case and the fact that only circumstantial evidence was used, I genuinely believed Lucy Letby was an evil b!tch who deserves to rot in hell! Now, I'm not so sure!! They've all certainly done a brilliant job dragging her name through the muck!!! Check out the Sally Clarke (née Lockyer) case. A former solicitor who's two children were found dead from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) after her name was dragged through the muck and she spent over 3 years in prison! She died from alcohol poisoning and genuinely believed she had murdered her children. It was found that Dr Alan Williams, the Forensic Pathologist in this case, had failed to disclose vital microbiological evidence that clearly showed that Sally's boys both had SIDS and their deaths were natural. Dr Roy Meadows, a paediatrician, gave statistical evidence which he was not qualified to give which was incorrectly used to obtain a criminal conviction! That trial ruined an innocent woman's life!! Miscarriages of justice happen! We just don't want to believe they do!!

@pippipster6767 any human with an ounce of empathy is going to feel guilty over children dying who they cared for! And then when enough people point the finger at you, you will start to believe you're guilty! A psychopathic killer will rarely admit to wrongdoing even when banged to rights!! They lie all the time! She may be guilty! I'm not saying she's not, but the original trial is absolutely rotten!! The hospital was said to be providing inadequate care, unsanitary conditions while dealing with vulnerable babies! Dr Shoo Lee's 1989 paper was misinterpreted and when he raised concerns about this, they tried to shut him down!!
