Matthew Allen You need to listen more attentively, for many if the answers--particularly given the complexity of the problem and attendant issues of the politicization of mask-wearing, social-distancing, and the stoking of the anti-vaxxer movement--will not be yes or no replies. Things aren't that simple. Not everything is binary and amenable to simple solutions. All this has become not merely a matter of what science dictates, but what will be palatable to segments of the citizenry who have been encouraged--for political reasons--to be skeptical of experts. The emotional response to any proposed action must be factored into any decision. Decisions cannot merely be rendered based on what science would dictate is the correct path to take. People have to be willing to buy in to any shift, or adaptation of previous guidelines. America will never reach "herd immunity" unless more people can be persuaded to abandon their affection for disinformation, and to shun those who would exploit human suffering and death for political gain.
