@suesue9578 With respect, I am not "hating on the Palestinian ambassador," as you put it. My comment came in response to requests for instances in which the ambassador's account may not have quite jibed with the facts as known. And my assertion is based on summary comments made by both Alistair and Rory, not on some imagining of my own.
It is endemic to the role of ambassador to be a partisan,
a promoter of a positive narrative and view point of that entity which they represent. One should not expect any ambassador to serve as a wholly objective source, an emotionless cypher merely relaying pure fact.
Yes, as a parent and grandparent I find my heart breaking with each image and bit of news about a child exposed to terrible suffering and--in too many instances--to death itself. But as someone greatly concerned with how those caught up in this awful conflict may be brought to a far brighter, far more hopeful future, I believe it critical not to accept whole cloth a narrative driven by emotion. I need to remain apart enough to stay analytical, critical of competing versions/accounts so as to understand how this monstrous tragedy may be kept from reocurring. And getting swept away by raw emotion does not, to my mind, seem terribly instructive nor very useful.
Cheers
