With respect, it reads as though you believe that we are on a reductive sort of trajectory, one that leads us to abstain from using an ever- expanding phalanx of words because we view them as overused and, thus, trivialized and made impotent by that very overuse. And if we pursue that line towards its logical end, will we be left with a meagre vocabulary augmented by grunts and snorts. Cheers

  4. Sorry, Rory Stewart, but those in mental decline (as in cases of dementia and Alzheimers) do have periods of fair lucidity. While we do not know what pharmaceuticals are percolating about in Trump's bloodstream, we do have a raft of renown mental health professionals (see the work of Dr. Bandy Lee, et. al.) who have studied years of Trump interviews and speeches and have decisively concluded that he is indeed in pronounced mental decline.
