  2. I don't code, but this is my logic. Suppose an AI is created that can expand on its own code by itself, without human intervention. Could that AI still gain any level of real "consciousness"? I mean, we don't even have any true understanding of consiousness maybe on a biological level but cerainly there is no complete model of consiousness, but wouldn't any AI only be able to function within its coded peramerters? Even if it could expand its own code, it would still be limited by the language/languages it was coded in. Can you even code an AI that can expand on its own code? I'm confused, gonna take a nap.
