  5. For someone reason, the situation with Mapusaurus and Giganotosaurus reminds me of Bumblebee and Cliffjumper from Transformers. If you don't know, those two have very similar designs, so the fandom usually views Bumblebee as the famous one, while Cliffjumper is mostly known as the one that looks like Bumblebee. It's kind of the same here, Giganotosaurus is the famous one, while Mapusaurus is mainly known as the dinosaur that looks like Giganotosaurus but isn't. Luckily, after Planet Dinosaur, it seems Mapusaurus is getting the recognition it deserves.

In some cases, it does sort of makes sense, like with Sygimoloch, Dracorex, and Pachycephalosaurus. In other cases, it's complete BS, like with Torosaurus and Triceratops. The only type of theory weirder then those kinds of theories are the ones that do the exact opposite, like with Nanotyrannus.

  32. On one hand, you have a point. Compared to other dinosaurs like large ceratopsians and ankylosaurs, hadrosaurs were not as well defended. On the other hand, just because they were not as well defended as other herbivorous dinosaurs does not mean they were defenseless. Horses, which you compare to hadrosaurs, may not be as well protected as rhinos or horses, but they are still very capable of defending themselves.
