@la-go-xy I think I heard that winter tires aren't mandatory in the Netherlands.

He was indeed using summer tires and summer tires aren't made for snow. Also that particular E-Class appears to be RWD, given that the rear wheels at spinning a lot.

@TheBrasidas Yes all Mercedes models are RWD or AWD, Mercedes decided that A- and B-Class should be FWD for some reason. Even the CLA is FWD as well, except the AMG. You're right, both A- and B-Class shouldn't be considered a real Mercedes, even the CLA shouldn't be considered a real Mercedes, it's is just a heap of garbage,

@Mabswer Yeah that tire on the VW was acting weird. It was off the rim, then somehow came back on the rim. The driver was probably unaware of it.

@Yvolve I know that FWD are cheaper to build and no need for driveshaft tunnel on the rear seat, leaving a bigger boot space, but I still think Mercedes should be RWD or AWD. As I said before, A- and B-Class shouldn't be considered a real Mercedes, as do the GLA and CLA, they shouldn't be considered real Mercedes either. That W212 E-Class on the video was a real Mercedes and still is, the W212 E-Class is one of the beautiful sedan Mercedes-Benz ever made. The most beautiful model is the 300SL with Gullwing doors.

@LinguaVeritatis "RWD is more stable, more efficient up hill and will accelerate faster -in dry conditions-" 1) That can depend on what car it is. 2) Sure RWD is more efficient up hills, but it also depends how steep the incline is. 3) Most AWD accelerate faster, but some RWD can outrun it.

Finland has few inclines and people still use bicycles in the snow
1
@DenUitvreter That's true, but some bridges only have slight inclines. Many bridges appear flat when driving or cycling, but when looking at them from different perspective, inclines will be noticeable.

That's because currently summer in the Northern hemisphere, well summer technically June 1st which is this Saturday
1
@matsv201 That's because meteorological reckoning of seasons isn't used in your country.

Summer tires is indeed no good in snow and ice, but considering how rare it snows in the Netherlands, it's almost no point making winter tires mandatory.
