  1. In the US, depends on the states. Even if police don't care, jaywalking is generally prohibited in most states. In most European countries, there's no such concept and/or crime against "jaywalking" Under Vienna Convention on Road Signs and Signals, it's legal to cross all road, except motorways or some expressways.
