  1. LEDs streetlights sucks, they ruin the look and has no charm. LED streetlights give off ugly white or pale yellow light. They make street look unpleasing and unpleasant. They can turn blue/purple or even flicker like a strobe light when malfunction. I miss HPS streetlights.

  3. Yeah while LED are more efficient, nothing beats the good old incandescent and fluorescent lamps on streetlight. I miss the time where all streetlamps near me had incandescent illuminated orange or blue, while some streetlamps were also fluorescent tubes that illuminated yellow. These streetlamps were on utility poles as well, they unfortunately removed the utility poles and replaced with LED streetlamps in 2017. I'm NOT a driver, but I despise LED streetlamps.

  4. I prefer incandescent streetlights and traffic light, but I don't mind LED traffic lights. But I hate LED streetlights, especially yellow LEDs.

  6.  @bite-sizedshorts9635  Europe isn't extremely tiny compared to the US. I guess you never learnt geography in school? Beside Europe is a continent and is 10,186,000 square kilometers (3,933,000 sq mi), while US is a country spanning 3,796,742 sq mi (9,833,520 km2) by total area. So Europe is still bigger than the entire US.

I agree, while I understand why people change streetlights to LED, but I miss the time where majority of main roads had orange glow, while minor streets had blue glow or even yellow glow from fluorescent tubes. My neighborhood used to have streetlights on utility poles on every street, but in 2016 they removed all the utility poles and replaced them with ugly yellow LED streetlight. ´While LED streetlights are indeed more efficient, but I swear that municipalities just put them in front of windows just to disturb the residence. That's why some of them have covers, so light doesn't travel through the windows. What I dislike about LED streetlights, you can see individual diodes, which also makes them unpleasing and ugly. If LED streetlights had translucent cover/lens, they would be less blinding for pedestrians and drivers. In fact I think all LED streetlights should have translucent cover/lens rather than transparent.

  12. Roundabouts are better than traffic light, but roundabouts wouldn't fit in city centers. Are you suggesting that ALL intersections should be a roundabout. Beside, 95% of US drivers don't even know how of use a roundabout.

  14. Not to mention, US outlets are likely more dangerous than the UK or even European counterparts. The contact points of the US outlets are much closer to the plastic cover. Also the US plugs are asymmetrical, meaning they must be plugged in a certain way. In my country all plugs with two pins are circular, meaning they can be plugged in upside down as well.

  15.  @BadgersInTheAttic  I believe outlets and sockets in Denmark is standard across whole Scandinavia. I also like that all outlets have 220v - 240v.

  16. Not to mention LED streetlights are ugly. I prefer the HPS and mercury vapor lighting. Replacing them with LED also means less streetlights, making the streets bit darker.

  20. I wouldn't be surprised if you swear at strangers when they ask you a question. Imagine if someone asks you were the beach and you apply "It's right fucking there, idiot". I guess you also push through strangers and yell "fucking move" instead walking around them.

  21. But I'm sure the white LEDs are ugly and makes the streets unpleasing. I prefer the orange and blue incandescent.
