I felt for Stan in “You’re Getting Old”, because I had almost the exact same thing happen in my life. My dad left us, and I went through a really dark time. Unlike Stan my parents didn’t get back together, but I’m glad they didn’t because I saw my father for who he truly is, and I don’t want anything to do with him. I’m a lot better now, because much like Stan realized, change brings new opportunities, and I’m thankful for them every day.
